It is possible to discover traces of the Romans civilisation by visiting the many archaeological sites, including the ruins of a roman villa in Ponza along with an ancient roman amphitheatre, the suggestive Villa Giulia in Ventotene, the ancient aqueduct, the water holding tanks, the necropolis, the harbour dug by the Romans out of the island rock and the so-called “Peschiera Romana”, the remains of an ancient roman fish farm with a series of 3 pools carved out of the rock.
